As Head Coach, promoted Davor Suker for the first time to the senior team. Suker later played for FC Seville, FC Real Madrid, FC West Ham, Yugoslavian and Croatian National Teams.

1987-1988 FC Spartak, Subotica, Yugoslavia
As Head Coach, FC Spartak wins promotion from second National League to first National League.

1987  U-18 Yugoslavian National Team 
Co-Head Coach with Mirko Jozic. Wins World Championship in Chile 

1988 U-21 Yugoslavian National Team
Head Coach. Second place in European Championship.

1988 - 1990 FC Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Yugoslavia
Head Coach. Winner of the 1989 Championship. Promoted players Sinisa Mihajlovic (FC Sampdoria, SS Lazio, FC Internazionale, Yugoslavian National Team), Slavisa Jokanovic (FC Tenerife, FC Chelsea, Yugoslavian National
Team) and Budimir Vujacic (FC Sporting, Yugoslavian National Team), to the senior team.

1990 - 1991 FC Crvena Zvezda, (Red Star) Belgrade, Yugoslavia
Head Coach. European League Champions

1992 -  C.A. Penarol, Montevideo, Uruguay
As Head Coach, he took Penarol from 9th place to 2nd place.

1993 - 1994 FC Olympiacos, Athens, Greece
As Head Coach, team played in UEFA Cup.

1995-1996 FC Crvena Zvezda, (Red Star) Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro Head Coach, League Championship and National Cup Winner. Promoted Mitko Stojkovski (FC Oviedo, Macedonian National team), Darko Kovacevic (FC Real Sociedad, FC Juventus, SS Lazio, Yugoslavian National Team), Dejan Stefanovic (FC Sheffield, Yugoslavian National Team), Nenad Sakic (FC Sampdoria, Yugoslavian National Team), Perica Ognjenovic (FC Real Madrid, Yugoslavian National Team) and Dejan Stankovic (SS Lazio, FC  Internazionale, Yugoslavian National Team) to the senior team.

1996 - 1997 FC Vojvodina, Novi Sad, Yugoslavia
As Head Coach, team played in UEFA Cup.
Promoted Damir Stojak (FC Napoli) to the senior team. During his career in Yugoslavia, Ljupko Petrovic worked with many great players such as Dejan Savicevic, Miroslav Djukic, MIodrag Belodedic, Darko Pancev etc.
